I have just recently started to get interested in QR Codes. It seems to me that it could get quite useful, for everything from vcards, tickets, infomercials, and so on. I have implemented it on the website and will probably include it on my next businesscard. In Denmark I believe we still need some broader public awareness before it will breakthrough.
There is a problem installing VMWare Fusion 3.3 on a MacBook Prowith the i7 processor installing Mac OS X Server 10.6.2 and 10.6.3. You can install 10.6 but you cannot boot the server after upgrading to 10.6.x and it is not possible to make a fresh install of 10.6.3 either. So at the moment I am stuck with Server 10.6 on my laptop, luckily it is only a test environment
Hooooray, I have just received my MacBook Pro and it is blazingly fast! I have no problems running OS X and then Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 on VMWare Fusion.
I have had a lot of trouble with VMware server or workstation running on a Windows 7 on HP machines. It seems to conflict with the HP Protect Tools software. It is possible to install VMware and run it once or so, but after a reboot it is not possible to login. You get to the ctrl-alt-del part and after pressing the keys nothing happens for some minutes and you get back to the login screen with ctrl-alt-del. The only solution that I have found for this is to remove HP Protect Tools software completely.
Have you heard about the iPhone? Of course you have… I loved my iPhone 3G and have recently upgraded mine to a iPhone 3G S. Yes I know the difference is petité but the iPhone for me is the best phone and gadget ever made. I know people say other phone manufacturers have made phones that are vastly superior to the iPhone, that maybe so if you look at the specs. Like everything else it does not matter if you have all the bells and whistles if you do not know how to use it. This is where the iPhone wins every single time… it is intuitive, it is smart and it works.
I have recently migrated my mail and web to a new server running OS X Snow Leopard. Everything seemed to work, except one small detail… The permalinks did not work even though the .htaccess file was correct. And I did not really notice it before now, but I have fixed it. I forgot that I had to enable override all in the httpd_conf.
Recently I have discovered that we kept losing the “Send as permission” on an Exchange 2007 SP1 with rollup 7. The funny thing was that it was because the user was a member of a group which was a member of print operators. And I do not know why all of a sudden this should conflict but it did. If I removed the user from print operators and changed the users admincount to 0 the problem was solved.
Somebody in Redmond must have been in a good mood, starting on April 01. 2009 Microsoft will release Office Sharepoint Designer 2007 as a free downloadable product. Hmm… it is to early to be an April fool… Will keep you updated with a download link as soon as it becomes available.
There is a bug in Server 2008 (SBS 2008 as well) when you have enabled file resource manager. For instance if you have enabled it on the same disk volume as your Sysvol folder you are no longer able to save new GPO’e even though you haven’t made any restrictions for *.ini. You will get an error in the GPO Management console saying: “The data present in the reparse point buffer is invalid” Remove the role and reboot and your problem ill be fixed, I have heard that Microsoft is working on a hotfix for this.
